Next week, cyclists will gather to ride to raise awareness among motorists, police and city officials that cyclists have a legal right to the road. It also rides to honor those cyclists who have been killed or injured in accidents.

The ride is free.

Cyclists can meet at 6:45 p.m., Wed., May 19 15, at Schenley Plaza in Oakland. The ride will take off at 7 p.m., and participants are being asked to ride no faster than 12 mph, wear helmets, follow the rules of the road and remain silent during the event. The 11.2-mile route can be found here. Additional information can be found on the Pittsburgh Ride of Silence Facebook event page.
