With Trump talking about taking the Panama Canal and Greenland, Lynn shared some history about them. Teddy Roosevelt was president when we built the Panama Canal and Panama wouldn’t even be a country if we hadn’t. It had belonged to Colombia. And we owned the canal until Jimmy Carter gave it to Panama. After W.W.II, Harry Truman floated the idea of buying Greenland for strategic purposes. So none of this is as outlandish as it sounds.
