Americans used to be the most mobile society in the world. In the 19th century, in any given years, one in three Americans would move. Even into the 1960s those numbers were high: one in five. But now it’s one in 13. Americans are stuck. And they’re frustrated. Moving was always about moving UP. Ain’t happening anymore. Those are the people who voted for Trump in large part. The sad thing, of course, is that Trump’s policies will not unstick them. All they’ll be stuck with is the bill, while Trump and his billionaire buddies make off with all the money.
