While winter is still a month away, temperatures are already dropping, and the first snow of the season is expected to hit Pittsburgh this week. It’s important to stay warm in the cold, which is easy to do if you have the proper clothing, but many in the city are not so fortunate. Luckily, there are several organizations collecting coats, hats, gloves, and other winter-wear to donate to people experiencing homelessness or those otherwise in need.

Allegheny YMCA

What they’re collecting: Men’s clothing only. New and lightly used coats, hats, scarves, gloves, boots, thermals, and new socks.

Pittsburgh Mercy’s Operation Safety Net

What they’re collecting: New and lightly used men’s and women’s boots, larger men’s winter coats (sizes 1X-3X)

Guardian Storage

What they’re collecting: Gently used/new coats and new socks in all sizes

Mr. Rogers’ Neighborhood Sweater Drive

What they’re collecting: Sweaters of all sizes
