The case of the Hill District mother who lodged a complaint against a police officer for drawing his gun on her and four children remains on hold. The Citizen Police Review Board granted complainant Pamela Lawton’s case a suspension on Jan. 23.
On the advice of her lawyer, Lawton has not yet given testimony to the board about city officer Eric Tatusko’s handling of the August traffic stop in Shadyside, even though she filed a complaint. At its Dec. 5 meeting, the board had considered dropping the case for lack of testimony, but her attorney requested the board suspend the investigation until after Lawton’s criminal trial on charges stemming from the stop.
Lawton’s trial begins Feb. 22. The next board meeting is Feb. 27.
