Guests came over and this “punchki” finished strong

Around noon, we went to a Polish mass at St. Matthews on Pittsburgh’s North Side. This is a once a month mass for all local people who claim roots from Poland and live in Pittsburgh. There aren’t as many as there once were, and for a while, I was convinced most were dying off or assimilating themselves into everyday American life. However, I am beginning to notice more and more younger Polish people in Pittsburgh.

In fact, after the mass, JC’s flock usually is offered coffee and donuts in the hall beneath the church. … In any case, I passed on the “punchki,” which is the Polish word for donuts. No more donuts in my future.

Interestingly enough, I was checking to see if I got the spelling of “punchki” correct. I am not making this up but: According to the UrbanDictionary.com, a Punchki is “a well hung sexy polish man usually named Matthew who belongs to a princess.”

What the fuh? I have to show this definition to my wife. Dare I say she married a true “punchki.”
