This film was not screened for critics locally, so we took a look at the trailer.

Necessary Info: Third Taken film, featuring Neeson as a former special-forces dude getting things done; this time, he’s falsely accused of murder and has to clear his name/find the real killer. And, as always, “Protect my family.”

Trailer Analysis:

Minimal plot set-up, then a lot of action snippets. Weapons previewed: handgun, rifle, automatic rifle, mega-huge automatic rifle, elbow, head, convenience-store shelf, bomb and EKG paddles. Number of explosions: 4. Car-fu: a Porsche and a plane collide; car flips down freeway. Sample dialogue: “Soon, everyone you know will be dead.”

Based on these 2:18 minutes, should you go?

If the film is as fast-paced as the trailer, this could be some no-brain, winter-night entertainment. Plot is surely ludicrous, but both Neeson and Whitaker are better than this and that should help.
