If you thought last year’s Exorcist: The Beginning from Renny Harlin wasn’t worth the cost of the popcorn, here’s your chance to have another go at same story, with the same cast and sets, but under a different director. Once again, filling in the life-changing experiences of Father Merrin (Stellan Skarsgard) immediately following World War II, this version from Paul Schrader (Auto Focus) was shot first and purports to be more contemplative. But the producers didn’t care for it, shelved it and hired Harlin. Now you be the judge.
