Two exciting news updates from BBGuns. After announcing that they signed to local label Crafted Sounds, the indie hip-hop duo then dropped the old-school sounding single, “Valley.” The track is from BBGuns’ upcoming June album, Help Yourself.
Oh yeah, BBGuns would like its fans to refer to themselves as BBs.
But speaking of Crafted Sounds, the label’s compilation album, Bridges, was featured in Bandcamp’s essential releases last week. The album is home to 21 songs from Sad Girls Aquatics Club to Bat Zuppel, and even the late Jesse Flati of The Lopez.
And Crafted Sounds donated the money made at its Bridges release/three-year anniversary party at Spirit on April 12 to Planned Parenthood of Western PA.
Vinyl enthusiasts, take note – a limited amount of spots in A-F Records’ Record Club is available for access to 10 LPs, A-F Records exclusives, and more.
This year, 420 fell on a Saturday. Starship Mantis, Benji., and DJ Femi celebrated with an outer space-themed costume party at Cattivo.
While Jon Bindley, Chet Vincent, Angela Autumn, and over eight others took part in Honky Tonk Jukebox at the Allegheny Elks Lodge.
Saturday was also the one year anniversary of international EDM artist Avicii’s passing. Today, Breis Gordan released a live set of an Avicii tribute he played last year at Tilden.
Pssst… Get ready. This year’s Deutschtown Music Festival takes places July 12 and 13.
Lastly, here are some freshly pressed tracks to get you through the work week.
