Easter Specials 2025

Easter falls on Sun., April 20 this year, and Pittsburgh restaurants are celebrating with brunch buffets, egg hunts, carrot-themed treats, and appearances from the Easter Bunny.

Pane è Pronto, DiAnoia’s Italian takeout kitchen, serves up baked treats and a pre-made holiday feast. The bakery’s signature pane di Pasqua, braided Italian sweet bread, returns for Easter, along with a house-made Italian carrot cake, available through Sat., April 19. Pronto’s take-and-bake Easter dinner kit offers a five-course reheatable meal for two ($84) or four ($160) and includes pane di Pasqua, whipped ricotta with strawberry caponata topping, citrus and fennel salad, goat cheese ravioli with roast lamb sugo, and a roasted half chicken. Shorty’s serves up a $25 Easter Sunday (Sun., April 20) brunch buffet from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. at its North Shore and Waterfront locations. The menu includes fresh fruit, scrambled eggs, silver dollar pancakes, bacon and sausage links, Easter candy, and more, plus $20 mimosa towers. The Easter Bunny will appear for pictures at both locations. North Shore visitors can win cash and prizes by participating in an Easter egg hunt on the restaurant’s patio, or throw some balls with half-off duckpin bowling.

What’s Easter without deviled eggs? Ritual House answers the call with a festive brunch on Sun., April 20 featuring deviled eggs with bacon jam and smoked paprika, carrot cake pancakes, a lobster omelet, and the Ritual Breakfast Sandwich, stacked with tomato bacon jam, black forest ham, two fried eggs, and smoked Gouda on a milk brioche bun.

Ritual House will also offer collab specials in partnership with the McKees Rocks bakery Jenny Lee, including Strawberry Cheesecake French toast made with Jenny Lee’s beloved Cinnamon Swirl Bread. Toast to Easter with the Rosy Rabbit craft cocktail made with Tequila Rose strawberry cream liqueur, or the kid-friendly Bunny Mocktail featuring strawberry chocolate milk and marshmallow fluff syrup, and served in a bunny cup.

Chef Beth Zozula (formerly of 40 North) hosts a family-style lamb Easter brunch and cake bake-off on Sun., April 20 at Black Radish Kitchen. Two seatings, available at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m., will feature pickled and deviled eggs, roasted leg of lamb, handmade tortillas, bitter greens, honey, sheep’s milk feta, olives, potato casserole, and asparagus. Dessert includes a lamb-shaped cake bake-off competition between Pittsburgh chefs and industry professionals from Fet-Fisk, Bitter Ends Food, Stuntpig, Hyeholde, and the soon-to-be-launched Titusz. Tickets cost $65 and are available through Eventbrite.

Community Kitchen spotlights Filipino cuisine this month. On Thu., April 24 from 5:30-8 p.m., chefs Sarah Vicente and Claudine Cipriano join for CKP’s April guest chef dinner. Vincente and Cipriano operate Modern Filipino Cuisine, an Oakland-based takeout concept featuring modern interpretations of classic Filipino dishes.

The chefs will work with CKP culinary students at its Hazelwood kitchen to prepare a four-course Filipino meal for guests. The menu includes Filipino tuna ceviche, pancit noodles with lechon kawali (crispy pork belly), short ribs, and Brazo de Mercedez (a meringue roll with custard and tropical fruit filling) for dessert. Diners will hear from the guest chefs and students during the dinner, which supports CKP’s nonprofit culinary training programs. Tickets cost $75 and can be purchased through Eventbrite.

Aslin invites Pittsburghers to lace up their running shoes and go on a beer-filled fun run on Sat., April 26, as part of the 2025 PA Brewery Running Series. Aslin’s 5k Fun Run promises “scenic routes” that allow both seasoned runners and newbies to “enjoy the beautiful surroundings while getting your heart pumping.” The race ends with a “well-deserved” craft brew from Aslin at the finish line, a collector’s pint glass, or seasonal swag item from the Brewery Running Series, as well as post-run live music and raffles. Part of the event proceeds benefit 412 Food Rescue. Tickets start at $32 and can be purchased through Eventbrite.

Page’s is going mobile with the launch of a new ice cream truck. The beloved South Side dairy mart and ice cream shop announced that it bought a food truck and will renovate it to hit the streets “later this season.” Page’s reopened for the season in March. In other ice cream news, Leona’s has found a spot for its new storefront. The Pittsburgh Business Times reported that the Wilkinsburg-based company known for its gourmet ice cream sandwiches will open at 5119 Penn Ave. in Garfield, after ending a year-long stint at Lawrence Hall. Leona’s co-owner, Christa Puskarich, said the location will be the first ice cream shop in the Penn Avenue business district. Leona’s plans to open the new location by mid-summer, with pop-ups during the neighborhood’s First Friday art crawls.
