It’s a round-about kinda story.
Brillo — the folks who make the soap pads — is turning 100. And to celebrate the company’s relationship with Andy Warhol — who, in 1964, famously reproduced the Brillo box for an art exhibit — Brillo, in partnership with the Warhol Museum, is offering the Warhol D.I.Y. app for free.
The app lets you manipulate photos, “silk-screening” them to resemble Warhol’s work. There’s no shortage of gimmicky photo apps out there, but this one is free through March and thus worth noddling around with. (Above is a “Warholized” photo of a dog.)
