This just in: The ACLU apparently intends to file a class-action federal lawsuit against the Pittsburgh Bureau of Police, alleging “a longstanding pattern and practice of racial discrimination against African Americans” in hiring black applicants.
The ACLU plans to hold a press conference on the suit tomorrow — notable timing, considering that just this week, the Ravenstahl administration touted the diversity of the most recent class of police recruits.
